Differences in the Assessment of Safe and Risky Driving Behaviors: Pedestrians Versus Drivers

Interactions between pedestrians and drivers are an important traffic safety issue. Psycho-social factors such as thoughts, perceptions attitudes toward other people can be reliable predictors of riskier or safer behaviors among road users. The aim this study was to assess how frequently participants perceive that perform safe risky through drivers’ self-reported behavior external perceptions. results show the in a seriously negative way. Meanwhile, their own more appropriate than those performed by rest drivers. Women attribute favorable assessments users’ behavior. Similarly, older do same, consider themselves “safer” On contrary, younger report higher frequency self-rated unsafe behaviors. highlights importance working on awareness Road interventions programs Spain must differences related gender age.
